Stanisław Wojciechowski (President of the Republic of Poland from 22 December 1922 to 14 May 1926).
On 15 January 1919, he was appointed by the Head of State as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Poland in the office of Ignacy Paderewski. On 20 December 1922, he was elected president of the Republic of Poland by the National Convention defeating Kazimierz Morawski with the ratio of votes was 298 to 221. He held the office of the president of the Republic of Poland from 22 December to 15 May 1926 when he resigned from the office of the president as a result of the May coup d’état. Until the election of his successor, the presidential duties and functions were carried out by the Marshal of the Sejm, Maciej Rataj.
Stanisław Wojciechowski died in 1953 in Gołąbki near Waarsaw.
