Ski Jumping Venue Wisla

The Adam Małysz  Ski jump in 'Wisła-Malinka'

'Wisła-Malinka' Ski jump is the second largest object of this kind in Poland. It arose in 1933, at the ceremonial opening, when Mieczysław Kozdruń trainer of the Polish representation in 1950's- jumped at the distance of 41 meters This jump made him a record-holder.

In 2001, at Championships in Poland, the old Malinka was bid farewell. Wojciech Skupień won, setting a new record- 112, 5 metres. Earlier in series of jumping, which were cancelled, Robert Mateja jumped at the distance of 119 meters, but he didn't manage to keep his balance.

Decision about renovation of the object was made in 2001. The cost of the investment exceeded probably 45 million Polish zlotys. Rebuilding of the ski jump started in December, 2004. K-point was enlarged from K-105 to K-120 meters. The starting platform with a running start and a new Judges Tower were built. The light-posts were installed. What was a sensation was that the landing area of the ski jump was crossed by a road, which was closed for duration of the games. Nowadays, in order to shorten an access , a reverse slope was built together with administration and technical building and tribunes. The road runs in tunnel under the complex. There also emerged a lift for ski jumpers this is a demand of FIS.
