Oporow

 

Oporowskich castle - brick manor house built in the Gothic style in the years 1434-1449 in a village in Kutno Oporów by Bishop Wladyslaw Oporowskiego Kujawski.

 

Nucleus of the castle was "Rycerska" living tower, built in the early fifteenth century on the artificial island, on the middle of one of the creek Słudwi. Then residential buildings surrounding a small courtyard paving, defensive walls and semi-circular tower with a  chapel on the floor was build. Above the castle you can find  the north-west corner tower, decorated with gothic stab.

 

Despite many conversion made the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth century, there have only minor changes. Remaining after the Renaissance ceilings, baroque window openings on the floor, Classical molding. From 1840 comes around outhouse in the courtyard, the so-called. "sideboard" and the neo-Gothic portal and a gateway entrance terrace before the bridge. The castle is surrounded by a national park established in the first half of the nineteenth century
